Huh, interesting - docs still say that the cloud images are *made* using
this tool, is that no longer true? Is there some replacement?

Could this please be applied? It's a a pretty trivial patch, just need

There hasn't been any activity on this bug for a while, and I suspect
it's not really a bug. I think the file gets copied from the host, so
an out-of-date host will result in this behavior?

Ah, the above issue is LP #1037607, I'll comment there.
If I workaround using --addpkg linux-image-generic, the raring build
works with the proposed python-vm-builder version, so this version looks
good to release in the meantime.

I hit this while building a raring VM to test out #1174148.
I was able to workaround by using --addpkg linux-image-generic. The
patch above looks like a sensible solution to me though.

I've tried python-vm-builder 0.12.4+bzr477-0ubuntu3. It has the
necessary files to build raring VMs and they look fine to me.
Actually building a raring VM didn't work on the host I was trying it
on. I'm not sure if it's an issue with python-vm-builder, but I got the
following when it died:

I could be misunderstanding the problem here, I think we've had trouble

Just found this one after posting on #946022. I have the same problem.
For me it occurs around half the time. Fails in the same way in grub:

'/tmp/tmpgvQfyy', 'grub', '--device-map=/tmp/vmbuilder-grub/device.map',

Ah - this may be the same as bug #610652.

I have this problem too - it's happening on roughly half my slice
builds.
It seems to be due to the grub installation failing, here's what it
shows for a build that won't boot:

This looks for a Link Failure Count line within 2 lines
