New Ubuntu releases are supposed to carry updated packages. If you need
packages to remain at a particular version then the recommended way of
doing this is to continue using the Ubuntu release that contains them.
To help you with this, regular releases are supported for
The distributions (Ubuntu and Debian) provide only the latest upstream
release. You should upgrade to PHP 5.4, or you will have to compiled PHP
from sources if you want to use 5.3.x version (which is being phased out
by upstream).
This is actually not a bug, but a request for a feature which is no
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
