Thanks for your input, guys. Can't believe I didn't think of just
plugging one physically into the other! But that's true, what a path.
I might as well give Hydrogen a try--bpm are bpm, and I hadn't thought
of that. I was playing with it earlier and thinking what a shame, it's
looks really c

I finally discovered why I couldn't run Creox and practice guitar using
Gtick for a metronome: Gtick is for OSS, and it throws up the error

I recently freshly installed Ubuntu Studio Gutsy on a machine w/ Asus
mobo, Intel onboard sound (fancy surround outputs etc. but I can't vouch
for quality), and am running the realtime kernel.
Regular system sound has always worked fine, but I haven't been able to
get Jack-based sound working r
I've got a chance to try a Celeron D machine with a Hack.int.0sh boot
ROM, which I reckon could be dual booted w/Ubuntu Studio (or even triple
with Windows), provided that the ROM would be compatible. 400Mbps

my AthlonXP 210
Just curious, and I'm probably overlooking a readily settable preference
somewhere--but in the "dark" UbuntuStudio theme, with lots of charcoal
gray and black, the text of "grayed-out," or unavailable menu items is
whiter or brighter than the text of the available menu items. I got

Count me in too, for silent media insertion, with just the icon showing
up on the desktop. Keeping the CD creator in the context menu sounds
good, but associating with K3B etc. isn't a bad idea either.

Cory,
I'm kind of in the same category as Bill. I edit for a living, and I'm
an UbuntuStudio user interested in using and improving a/v apps, but
I've got just a little experience in an app or two. If you could use
another hand, please let me know.

i.e., is anyone else having trouble getting the UbuntuStudio .iso file
onto a DVD because burning software insists upon a CD?
If so, I found that in K3B, it helps to go through the Welcome screen
