I have an HP 2710p Tablet PC running Xubuntu 11.04, which features a
wacom tablet. The stylus always works on first boot, but as soon as I
sleep and then resume the system, the stylus stops working. It's still
listed in "xinput list", but it just wouldn't work.
So downgrading is the way to alleviate the issue? Feels so... Windows
like. Where XP is the upgrade for Vista.
I guess I will try that method myself, but if using an old kernel on a
new distro is the only fix for the bug then something isn't right from
the last kernel version in 10.10 up.

Actually I am in a process of installing fglrx driver and so I have
removed everything related to nvidia, but it seems some parts are still
in the system. Fglrx reported as installed but does not load (black
screen). When booting through the safe mode the vesa driver gets load

I can as well confirm that I do not get tearing with compiz when I
enable Force full screen redraws. I've used the video you posted to test
– thank you very much for the link by the way.
I first started to experience tearing in 10.10. Although back then once
I enabled vsync to be forced for OpenGL
I have the same problem, when I play video, with vlc,totem even in
youtube.

Markus - have you tested with the video I posted? If the composite
extension is enabled, I get tearing even when compiz is not running.
Depending on the video, you may not always see it. That's why I made
the test clip.

I have a DH67BL Intel motherboard with Core i3-2100, and I'm running
natty. When I try to suspend the computer it sometimes freezes before
suspending, and sometimes doesn't wake up after resuming.
