Set sim-buffering to true in modem config. This will make kannel
search periodically por sms on the phone that might goy stuck on it.

tips regarding SonyEricsson.

I am using a Sony Ericsson phone as a modem with kannel. It works fine most
of the time, however sometimes it gets disconnected without reason. I fix
this issue by restarting the phone. But during the period when phone is not
connected to kannel, the SMS arriving at the phone are stored there.
