Problem is how to calculate OpenLayers.Bounds?
Simply replacing
new OpenLayers.Bounds(-180, -88.759, 180, 88.759),
by
new OpenLayers.Bounds(-20037508, -20037508, 20037508, 20037508.34)
did not work.
(It just blows up a single pixel to cover the whole map-div.)
Hello,
I'm working on a project in which i have to display a lot of short line
segments on a map. Actually they will represent some average speed on the
segment of road.
My question is: which is the best way of doing that. In my database i can
obtain fast the two (Lon,Lat) points that define a
Hi,
the image layer was not made for displaying non-geographic images, but
for maps. It seems you want to use OpenLayers to display images in the
map pane, and for this we may have a better solution for you.
Have a look at

Me again,
I gave your hint a try, but it didn't work. Seems to be projection related.
As soon as there is an OSM Layer it seems one needs to project the Church
picture.
Anyway, I gave up on that idea, and started moving the map to another div,
and then display the Church picture instead, like

Hi all,
After a lot of work and questions on this list (thanks for all the help!), I
currently have a viewport that has two wfs layers in it, that display
properly in all browsers. Phew! It has been a steep learning curve. I have
one more question though, it's about selecting and styles.

Hello,
I have trouble with the PanZoomBar.
It comes when we click on the PanZoomBar and move the slider.
If we move the mouse keeping the button clicked, over the top or above the
bottom of the slider outside the PanZoomBar div and we drop the button, it has
no effect, the zoom level returns
p.s. On a sidenote: something strange happens when I subsequently do this:
-select a polygon feature in wfs;
-unselect it;
-move cursor from within unselected polygon over a point from wfs2 that lies
within the bounds of the polygon the cursor is in.
What happens is that the point I'm hovering
Excuse me, that wasn't entirely right. It should be these steps:
-select a polygon feature in wfs;
-unselect it;
-move cursor over a point from wfs2
-move cursor out of the point from wfs2
-move cursor over the point from wfs2 again
This (not entirely predictably) visually selects the
Dear Openlayers list,
I have a simple question: I've installed Openlayers with the PanZoomBar feature
but I'm not able to make this thing horizontally ... it's always shown
vertically...
I hope you can give me some advice on this issue.
Thanks in advance,

You can override the function:
OpenLayers.Util.onImageLoadError
and make it do something else, like show a specific blank tile.

Hi,
Not directly with OpenLayers, but you can change the layer opacity,
see http://openlayers.org/dev/examples/layer-opacity.html.

Can you even do this on Google Maps itself? I am not seeing the option on
their website, but then again I'm not looking at the API.

Hello,
Is there anyway to adjust the sensitivity of the keyboard controls (panning)
and the mouse wheel (zooming)? It would be nice if panning would pan a
little more for each key press and the zoom wheel would be a little less
sensitive.

Hi Andreas,
Thanks for the help. I should've mentioned that the map also has features
that are points, and GetFeatureInfo's tolerance wasn't quite wide enough for
how we are displaying them; that was the big impetus for using GetFeature.
Additionally, the user will be dynamically adding and
