recipients, ie, the sender use too many RCPT TO commands.
You have two choices :

Yes Gerrit, ecartis will and the session and never retry.
In fact ecartis only send a mail to a list in the same thread that it
receive it.
Ecartis doesn't handle any spool.
(perhaps another feature in future release ...)
But in this case, even if ecartis handles a spool, the error is =
