authentication. Thankfully I fixed softmac's shared key auth anyway, you

I am heaving trouble getting above configuration to work.
After modprobing I do:
ifconfig eth1 up
iwlist eth1 scan
and I do get some Access Points. Two in my office and one in the neighborhood.
After that I execute following commands:
iwconfig eth1 essid "myEssid"
ifconfig eth1 192.168.255.
