SF techno events?
I'll keep this short since it's offtopic... I'm in the bay area this weekend with nothing to do and was wondering if anyone can recommend anything? g

RUMORS
... was watching a Making The Band episode with my girls last night and the boys are in Germany doing a demo with one _Tony Harrison_ on the boards and a statement-seemingly of fact-is made regarding Mr. Harrison being the first person to do dance music in the '80s... there's some connection with some group/artist: Captain Hollywood and AMGs' got him _rappin'_ on a '91 v/a comp entitled Dance Now!: Arista's Dance Collection, Vol.1... Seems to me such an _innovative fellow_ would show up a bit more or maybe he's just being _creatively elusive_..? ... I need some time, some time to get away.., J. E. v.F-B. B.

Detroit visits London.
Hi all, So I finally got to see Carl Craig play live! and a DJ set. [Yes, it was at the club Home here in London. Commercial club at it's best - not!! Such a shame he played there. Nuff said!] I was very much impressed, and he didn't play long enough by far for me [40mins live, 1hr set]. Danced my ass off! Well ok, not quite, I'm sitting on it now to type this. ;) I haven't got anything for you trainspotters, and I'm no good at reviews so I won't even attempt one, but he was on the mic a lot during his live set, and one of the things he said was this: THIS is NOT trance. THIS is TECHNO! THIS is DETROIT TECHNO!!! I just had to share this with you! :) Tonight The Suburban Knight plays live! at Lost [http://www.lost.co.uk/] - I hope he manages to get here this time, I'm very much looking forward to it. Have a good Sunday y'all. RE: [313] Jaguar news
From that NME article: Although Rolando reckons an album won't be on the cards for a while yet, he has just remixed Kraftwerk's 'EXPO 2000'. Has anyone heard this? Any ideas as to when it will get released? 337is
paperclip people live
just thought i give a short review of carl craig's live performance at paradiso last night. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY WICKED!!!(...that's probably a bit too short.) i got there at about half past twelve, and all out k was already playing some nice deep tunes, and got funkier along the way, playing a lot of classics (no ufo's and some kdj stuff). altogether a really nice set, ending with blake baxter's sexuality (one of my all-time favorite tracks). after that carl craig started his performance, i'm not to good on remembering track names, so all i can say is that he played all of the classics in front of a crowd that was well into it. i was standing on the side of the dance floor, and had one hell of a time just looking around the room and seeing all those people going nuts. by this time i had developed a huge big smile on me face that stayed there till well in the morning. after a couple of live tracks, he started spinning a couple of tunes on the decks. after he'd finished, chris hit the decks again. can't really say what he played like because i decided to go upstairs where it was just a little bit hotter (i must have lost at least three liters of fluids, thank god for all those cold beers). i don't go to clubs all that often, but this has been one of the best nights i've ever had. so if carl craig is visiting your town one day, be sure to check it out! jurren Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
