[sea][evt] tonight - BLUR [electro|techno]

2000-11-17 Thread Phil Chan
Each Thursday night from 10pm technoids and electroids descend upon
Seattle's Aristocrats for a little night we like to call BLUR.

If techno is your cup of tea, or if your looking to spend some time
Guerillas in the Mist style, drop down $3 and join us. It's on the corner of
4th and Main in the International District.

Tonight Androids:

10 - 11 : Phil Chan
Inappropriate lyrics and sped up beats will fill the air courtesy of the
sci-fi electro and ghettotech sounds of Detroit.

11 - 12 : Brahman
Brahman's first appearance since his return to the Puget Sound area. Get
ready for Silkey smooth stylin' as Brahman makes sweet techno love to the
mixer. Parental discretion advised.

12 - The End : Matt Anderson
Bringing the night to a close, Matt Anderson brings sounds sure to open and
surprise a few minds. Not for the faint of heart.

See you tonight!

ps.for those that haven't heard yet, we'll have all the mixes of expo2000
online from tonight at www.innercity.co.uk

Anyway it is actually the last show on LSR tomorrow night. I've had to
prepare it in advance as I am attending the radio awards tomorrow as the
show got nominated. Tomorrow's show is pretty spectacular though... the
first half will be dj mixes from Ben Long and Claude Young, then in the
second half is a one hour electro mix from ADULT, and believe me it is
incredible - I was lost for words when I got it. The show is on midnight
friday to 2.00am saturday, so please spread the word at this late notice for
those interested.

Good luck with your night on Sunday. I'm gutted I will miss this one too,
but congratulations on putting on some really spectacular events.

Regarding a mix for Virtual FM, you are welcome to be special guest of the
week on the Virtual FM web site. It would be a pleasure to get a mix from
you for the online show. Let me know what you think.

 All the best

RE: [313] UR NYE

2000-11-17 Thread johno

Dear all,

I would love to go to London around the New Year's period, but am kinda
short on money due to the most expensive year in
my life (going to live alone, Detroit-Chicago-Berlin, Pioneer mixer and
Yamaha RM1-x). It's the second time I ask this, but it's worth the try. Is
there anybody on the list who lives in the London area and who is willing to
have me and my girlfriend over for a couple of days (Friday till Monday? I
know the timing isn't all that good with New Year and all, but it's always
much more fun when you can stay with people who know their way around and
who are into the same things as you are. The hospitality will be returned.
Dennis and Magda Donnohue can back me on this. I had them over in Ghent last
weekend after they had us over in June. So if there is anybody who wants to
participate in my little exchange programm, please let me know. My private
mail is : [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Help a poor idealist out here ;-) Thanks people,

John

P.S. Tom, thanks for the offer; it's still under consideration, but it has
been so long since I've been in London that I want to make full use of it
(record shops, clubbing, city special for Bassic Groove magazine...)
Nottingham is on the list for a later date ;-)
