RE: Re: [313] taking off labels/blanks
i've always found the DJ must-hide-the-label syndrome slightly amusing and slightly annoying. i want to spread the sound of techno to anyone who will listen. i want people to support these smaller labels by BUYING THEIR RECORDS. how the hell is anyone gonna do that if they can't see who the artist is? hiding labels is snotty DJ culture at its worst. i don't care if the DJ next to me has the exact same records in his crate, we're still going to do something different with them when we play, so what the hell? just a thought, shiva www.djshiva.com this reminds me of an idea i have of selling(giving) label 'blanks'. it's probably already been done, but they would be like white stickers or any logo you wanted with a perferated X in the center so they would also correct over sized holes. the prototypes i have are just: question marks, plain white, and spirials. i still have some, so let me know if anyone wants any. c-ya kev Hi guys Just trying to work out what is the best way to remove the paper label from a record without damaging it too much? i know some of you have done it before :) ab [flip the scrip and down pitch the speed] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] _ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] GET VISIBLE! Re: [313] Recloose, Dan Curtin and Common Factor
previously... lots of really talented, well known people coming up on rushhour too...! gonna continue to become a great label im sure! snip yeah, i should've said - the next few releases on rushhour are really something - nubian mindz and domu mixes of aardvarck are essential, if you haven't checked nubian mindz yet this is a good place to start - he's making some of the most energetic and abstract stuff i've heard since early carl craig (as high praise as i can give)... good to see/hear rushhour and delsin establishing a connection with what's going on in london at the moment as well as with detroit and amsterdam... Re: [313] Recloose, Dan Curtin and Common Factor
clipped from previous post --Check out the latest Dan Curtain 12 (on Metamorphic?) which features new remixes by Common Factor and Recloose. the above mentioned record is amazing, I picked it up this week and JT wrote: i havent got it yet! but to clarify its actually on ELYPSIA, remixes from the pregenesis album. yep i stand corrected, the Dan Curtin remix 12 is indeed on Elypsia... guess i was getting a little carried away after reading about the rejuvenated Metamorphic label. check the Dan Curtin interview at WTN for more details: www.worldtechnonation.com and the man's name is spelled curtin...gotta be one of the most often misspelled names.. which goes to show that even people who make occasional spelling mistakes can still enjoy the music. :) cheers ~Askew _ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

stuff
what do peeps think of geology 2? i was pretty dissapointed with this. the mixing doesn't seem to be happening and the tracks pretty ordinary. personally i don't feel that cliched ,jazzy, solos are really part of techno which i always though was about using technology to create something new, not just for playing piano. recloose 'cant take it' is really fab tho. more like that please. i heard devo in the supermarket. it was fun. p-dogg
