2002-03-24 Thread Bill VanLoo
Ann Arbor-area heads:

I'm playing the back room at Necto tonight, and hopefully being joined by
Morgan Geist and Danny Wang (still in town from their Disco Nouveau gig on
Thursday). Hope to see some of you there.

Cheers,

Bill

Hehe, yeah Paul Oakie sure gets around. I gotta hand it to the guy
thoughhe's pushing himself and his brand of music into where it
needs to be. Can't even mess with it.

[313] Jacek Sienkiewicz info?

2002-03-24 Thread John Osselaer

Hi folks,

Does anybody have any info on Jacek Sienkiewicz other than the small German
bio on the Cocoon website?

Dennis D., do I recall you saying that you loved his stuff or was that
another Polish artist?

Thanks in advance,

John

the first movie soundtrack had a pretty good but kinda cheesy hard techno
track that caught the attention of my ears for some reason..out of the whole
soundtrack...anyone remember who did that??

That was probably the Confusion remix by New Order.

Cheesy as it was, I can't really complain when a 10-minute-long screaming
acid track makes it into the mainstream mindset... it's a start, anyways.

funny -- as if carl craig *needs* ice cube to do hiphop.

sorry, but i pointed out in print when it came out that the musical
ghost behind innerzone *PROGRAMMED* was hiphop -- not jazz, as had
been previously expected, based on bug in the basebin.

i'm not meaning to diss craig or jazz or hiphop here -- only to point
out that craig already knows how to do crossover.

speaking of funny crossovers, maybe carl and ICE T could get together
instead? like a carl's innerzone meets ice t's body count project?
now *that* would be funny!!!

NP: Ice T's _Power_ (I'm your pusher) -- sorry, but i've always
liked this album, and not just because he hilariously puts down LL
