(313) San Francisco - Alex Attias tonight
Thought I would put this out on the list for the curious. Seen his name mentioned here a few times, liked the swope transmission mix online, think I'll check him out. Its at the Top, Haight and Webster. Broken Beatish DJ with a few devotees. On 313 event spam: Personally, I don't think of any event listings on 313 as spam. Especially since I know a few people on this list who subscribed mainly because it's one of the few places to get event listings and tour dates for techno/house on a worldwide scale, not the sometimes inane techno techno-babble that we love so much. Then again, if I was a promoter I might feel guilty just promoting my own things on the list. _ hurlbot www.hurlbotics.com/mp3 _

I knew that album would annoy The Source, have a look at the latest editorial. :) -- From: Cyclone Wehner [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313 Detroit 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: (313) late 'kast reply Date: Fri, 24 Oct 2003 10:59 AM Funny I interviewed Andre last Sunday and he said that if anything he wanted to stretch the imaginations of his own community who listen to straight hip-hop. Of the singing he said he didn't think he was much good, and that he couldn't hope to aspire to Prince in that dept. He released a non rap album as he said he couldn't think of anything to rap about. I wanted to ask about Erykah Badu but I really feel bad asking personal questions so we talked about his perfect soulmate and fatherhood instead. ;) 1. 'kast at the fest would mos def be pimp. 2. it is indeed an exciting time for urban music. haven't heard this much innovation since ten tears ago. 3. hip hop electronic (same difference?) have always played off of each other always will. this is just dandy. i know djs mixing this album in with instrumental electronic shiz. 4. (hogans sucks teeth... hard) whatever, dog! andre is an effin' genius. always has been ain't poop changed. prototype is my junk. i might cry just thinking about it... oh, anybody that tells me that erykah's second album, mama's gun, isn't her best yet can go eat something yucky that doesn't taste good either. 5. common may be in cahoots with coca cola, but he's still one of the coldest out there. soul power? the hustle? stereolab collabos? c'mon, dude?!?! 6. i can only hope that when my stuff drops that folks don't write me off as a weird wannabe white dude just 'cause i'm not flashing ice, grabbin' my nads womanizing. i is who i be. love + spleen, +++ jason hogans (:brownstudy) chief nice guy [EMAIL PROTECTED] +++ really nice recordings, l.l.c. http://www.homepage.mac.com/reallynice/

(313) ffrr
Does anyone know if ffrr is still going or did it go with the collapse of London Records?
Re: Re: (313) 'Techno' Music
I guess I agree with everybody... Isn't it sothat every emotion, feeling that you get listening to music or a specific song is created by the experience you had the first time you heared this song or something familair.. I 'v been collecting records since the '80the '90...i've seen the development of the elctronik music...but don't ask me about titles, names, the history...mzik is to feel..close your eyes discver the emotion it is giving youor not...? Detroit, Chicago, London, Ibiza, Amsterdam.each city or place has its own emotion and sub culturesbut we all share the same united love... In the beginning of the '90 I got infected by the vinyl virus...afraid of missing arecord each week.totally losing control of what I had or not have...thank GOD I woke up one dayhaving a bunch of kids...less record buying...three years of listening to my 'old' records..WOW what a beatyfull records do I have..each one of em is a JEWEL I agree Dr., its not the date, year or . its SOUL Mantronix...??..now you're talking I. remember dancing on mantronix 15 years agoSimpleSimon is one of those songs I got a 'past' emotion on. What happened to Joyce 'Come in to my life' Sims? Larry Heard... breaks my heart, when I think about the conversation we had on his illegal album being re-released last year. Being robbed twice. Mastermind... brings back the subject on Dub again... tapedelays. Wow! But whatabout Hiphop then? Mantronix for example... Dr. Nutcracker
