any good? it's from chicago, it's from the 80s. this is when and where
western culture reached it's zenith.
plus, any record that has 'move', 'jack' 'work' or 'feel it' in the title
are gems.

And those videos are of very high quality - Drew's got the goods. I was
just over at his the other day and was watching Mike Grant, Amp Fiddler,
Orlando Voorn, Danny Krivit, and a few others. Having gone to the festival
a few times, I would tell anyone that hasn't been there (who wanted to get
a feel for what it's like) to watch Drew's videos of the festival.

Hire this man for your next wedding, bar mitzvah, or kid's birthday party -

I would describe them as quite minimal, atmospheric ('spacey') - typical
Mills style production. I liked them anyway.

I must have got to that Axis shop at just the right time. There was hardly
anyone in there when I walked in. 2 days later, the shop was so rammed that

any good? it's from chicago, it's from the 80s. this is when and where
western culture reached it's zenith.
plus, any record that has 'move', 'jack' 'work' or 'feel it' in the
title

are gems.

I thought the Farm Boy stuff was just OK..

Norman Jay was given an Order of the British Empire for his services

Norman Jay's MBE was due to his work with the British Council; it had

(313) Subsystence Volume 2: Out Now

2004-07-08 Thread Ken Meier
Dear fellow 313ers:

Yeah, it took a few extra days, but we've been busy, alright?

The July/August issue of Subsystence [www.subsystence.net] is finally here,
and we're ecstatic about the results. Entitled 'Foundation,' our sophomore
installment features a fantastic re-design by Eric Reagan; poetry from
Israel Vines and Jes Davis; a diatribe from Akin Fernandez (owner of the
legendary Irdial-Discs imprint) about his recently-settled lawsuit against
WEA/Nonesuch; ten new tracks in the Downloads area, including submissions
from Archetype, Kate Simko, and Jamie Hodge; photography from New York-based
Emily Keegin and the folks behind Chicago's Deadtech; reviews of new
releases by Ben Sims and Fumiya Tanaka; and much more.

All work is online and available for consumption at www.subsystence.net.
Thanks again to everyone who helped make this issue possible!

Best,

Ken Meier + Charles Adler

I'll be there on the Sunday - me and a mate are going to be DJing in between
all the acts in the King Tut's tent so listen out for some Detroit techno
before Orbital and some Moodymann before Amy Winehouse :)

Hopefully I'll manage to check out a bit of Mills - wouldn't mind also
seeing a bit of the Rapture, N*E*R*D and Massive Attack too...

Have a good one - the weather forecast's looking good :)

Cheers,
