Also over the years Melodies and Memories stepped it up big time. That is sad to hear about Record Time. I used to mail order from them too when Mike Himes still had the distro too... there isn't a decent shop in my town left that still orders good music either so Detroit is still alive with amazing tunes to buy. I made my first trip to Dan Zieja's Melodies Memories this past May during the festival. I easily dropped over 250 in that store just finding classic after classic and I only had time to go through 1 room. Reggie over at MM is a champ and I highly reccommend him as a dj too... this guy is up there with Theo Parrish when it comes to selection and energy. Why haven't they asked him to play at the festival yet? well i'm sure there is still a long list of folks who have not played... I'd love to see Art Forrest, Santonio Echols and Mark Kinchen play there one day... they were some of my favs besides the obvious players. Is Cliff Thomas' shop still around??...man I wish he would re-press some of those Express twelves again...a label comprable to Retroactive as far as Detroit techno cult status. minto down low music http://downlowmusic.org dLCMLP The Connection Machine PAINLESS cdlp OUT NOW dLVEXT2 E.R.P. 12 OUT NOW dL SHOP LOWER LEVELS http://lowrlvlz.gemm.com __ Yahoo! Let's hope they know what to order then without Huck... :( I'm sure they'll have the new Crystal Method , oh how exciting. I'll probably just keep ordering Hucks' Ebays instead.
