I don't have the Peacefrog one. The version on 102 is the one that has been rumoured to be the Mortiz von Oswald remix (I reckon this one is the best - it's the one with vocals too). The version on 107 is a lot more stripped down than either this one or the one on Theory of Retribution (which is the one most people know I think). And which track(s) from the Hip To Be Disillusioned two tracker recently re-release were available in the original PRES107 ? Hip To Be Dissullusioned (Shango dance edit) on the new one is A1 from the original. If you want to hear this in full I play it in its entirety on my last mix. Space Riddims is AA1 from the original. A2 on the original is a version of Sometimes I Feel Like and AA2 is that stripped down mix of I Feel the Rhythm. RE: (313) Shanghai!
Seconds for barbarossa, nice place to snack / drink and smoke a big old hookah if you want. Decent down tempo, light house, but not really any place to dance. Gets crowded and can be tough to get a good table or pillow on busy nights. For the dance club experience, RoJam remains the best bet. Huge crowds, mostly trancey stuff, but fun nonetheless. -Original Message- From: Mike Davis [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2006 10:42 PM To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: (313) Shanghai! Antidate Shanghai: http://urgentculture.com/antidote/flyers_01.html Great local group out there doing weird dance music nights Bon Bon: 2F Yunhai Tower, 1329 Huaihai Zhong Lu (淮海中路1329号,云海大厦 2楼) www.clubbonbon.com - Hawtin played here a few months ago. Great club, a bit on the expensive side if you are on Chinese.salary - Eddie Haliwell is there soon. Wynn Win Club: 5F, Plaza 66, 1266 Nanjing Lu near Shaanxi Nan Lu ( 南京西路1266号(陕西路口)恒隆广场 5 搂) - uber high class club from Steve Wynn (the mega casino owner who owns the new Wynn Hotel in Vegas). Expect to spend way too much money having too good of a time and finally... Barbarossa: 231 Nanjing Xi Rd, Peoples Park, behind Starbucks / next to the Shanghai Art Museum. Walk into the gate next to the Kathleen's and follow the path. near Huangpi Road (南京西路231号,人民公园 内) - www.barbarossa.com.cn - AMAZING club in the middle of People's Park (imagine a huge 3 story club in the middle of Central Park that is bumping every night of the week). They have great downtempo -- and wonderful fancy drinks. ;) There are many American language magazines located throughout town. Grab one and see what's up. As for record shops, I couldn't find any -- everyone uses final scratch. Don't expect to sleep if you don't want to. Carry around the WRITTEN chinese characters of your flat/hotel. When you are drunk at 4 AM, trying to get home: Chinese is difficult to speak. -mike p.s. check out Paulaner Brewhaus at 150 Fen Yang Road. http://www.wcities.com/en/record/,32732/79/record.html Great beer. filled with expats looking for a good time.
