Hot interview. It's cool to hear him speak about the last few years as a
simple learning curve. And to hear the way things were with the jit/prep
situation. Can't wait for the album. His-tory.

Nice one! The original. Hot. Yeah I didn't think theo had that remix
thing. Did he edit the one he played? Cause I could see that being the
biznass.

I think this one is probably the old willie hutch (?) remix done by jay
somebody-or-other. I have it at home. Will check after work and post
again. I started an old mixtape off with this one. There's a straighter
mix but the one everybody played back in the day was the really spaced

If so, that's interesting. Didn't think theo would have that one.

I have been trying to post this for almost a week, but apparently I am
retahded and don't know how to use Gmail. Ergh. Ha.

Anyway, Theo killed it last Monday at Cielo in New York.

Among the tunes he played that I loved were:

help ID this unknown track with the lyrics "gimme some of that good ol
love
lovin you just blows my mind let me make you feel fine this love I feel
for
you is true"

Quick, The - One Light In The Blackout
http://www.discogs.com/release/712023

Stephanie Mills - The Medicine Song
http://www.discogs.com/release/131763

help ID this unknown disco/house track with lyrics "some people think
it's
in the skies some people think it's in the ground we can try now that
time
has come" - "some people think it's in the skies" has definitely been
sampled into a track i've heard, perhaps a jungle track

help ID this unknown track with a breakbeat and the lyrics "throw away
the
rules of the night do it in style as long as it feels right i've been to
cairo i've been to tokyo" sounded like it was from the 90s

Jones Girls, The - You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else
http://www.discogs.com/release/131803

Fred Wesley & The JB's - Doing It To Death (Theo Parrish Edit -
unreleased
CD-R) http://www.discogs.com/release/333511

sade - nothing can come between us http://www.discogs.com/release/202451

Theo Parrish - Solitary Flight
http://www.discogs.com/release/68201 (hearing this on cielo's sound
system was like a dream come true. i screamed
and jumped up and down when i heard the track come in)

help ID this unknown track with vocal "i'm usually downstairs" repeated
ad
infinitum

help ID this unknown track with vocal "stomp your feet" repeated ad
infinitum

and also a bunch of unidentifiable jackin tracky chicago style poop
(censored for 313 flitter) with no words. oh emm gee.

here are the photos i took:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/sets/72157601444604121/

now some people have talked trash on the crowd at cielo. granted, there
were a lot of fashion victim asswipes, but i just closed my eyes and
enjoyed
the music, clapping and cheering. which there was a lot of.

it's new york, take the excellent (theo) with the mildly annoying.

and i'll admit, theo's eq tricks can get a little oppressive, but his
track
selection and the way he works the crowd is phenomenal. go watch the
red
bull music academy interviews with theo and you'll understand why he
does
the eq tricks, he's trying to recreate the moments he loved as a teen in
chicago.

all in all, i agree with monica more than jt in their reviews last
week, one of the best nights out for me in a long, long time.
