Made in the building I'm now sat at work in.

This control panel sits outside my office:

They probably had the argument that vinyl was better as well ;)

Don't you mean that the new, small transistor, based computers didn't give as
warm a sounding rendition of baa baa black sheep
as their valve models?

I've seen that movie. I like the central idea, but the script was
developed so poorly.

(313) upcoming 313 related goings-on in new york

2008-06-18 Thread Frank Glazer
Nomadico asked me to pass this along to the list...

hey man... i'm wondering if you can do a quickie favor and post some
Detroit NYC related news on 313 list?

First off... I'm playing PS1 on July 5th!

http://www.ps1.org/ps1_site/content/view/362/74/

...also the guys who got me the PS1 gig are behind the Water Taxi
Beach... they are mad about Detroit and booked KDJ and Omar S... so I
think 313 listers should know.

thanks!

The Beach Party with residents Justin Carter, Probus, and The
brothers'brothers and this year's special guests:

June 28
Moodymann (Detroit, Mahogani Music)

July 5
I:Cube (France, Versatile)

July 12
Secret Guests (New York, New York)

July 19
Rich Medina (Philly, Kindred Spirits)

July 26
Omar S (Detroit, FXHE Records) ]

August 2 - 30
We'll let you know in mid-July

It's here!

The Beach Party, the Saturday night, summertime party at Water Taxi
Beach, is back for another summer starting June 28 and ending on
August 30. Residents Justin Carter, DJ Probus, and The
brothers'brothers return, and the lineup of special guests is amazing!

We're kicking it off with Moodymann on June 28. The Detroit legend is
mysterious and great. He's rarely played in New York, and when he has,
he's played short sets in small places. Tonight, though, he'll be
playing for three hours on the East River. The next week brings over
another gent who doesn't often play in our fair city, I:Cube, whose
recordings released on Versatile over the past twelve years are the
pinnacle of French electronic music. On July 12 we've got a set of
fellas whose name we can't announce, but here are some clues: a duo of
New York disco and house DJs who've released a mix for a Campfire and
whose music goes down better with a spoonful of leather. We're sure
you'll figure it out. On July 19, the long-time hero of Wednesday
nights in New York City, Mr. Rich Medina, the king of a good vibe,
will be dropping in for a visit. Then, on July 26, Detroit comes back
to roost with Omar S, a producer whose music defines the
uncompromising greatness of his home city.

August? It's still a secret. But we're sure you'll be down when we
announce them in July. Until then, here are all the specifics for the
party.
