it's also getting harder to make that argument now that some of tom's
heroes (theo, rick w, etc.) have gone digital to a large degree.
once again, it doesn't matter what you use. it's how you use it.
(OT side note - i was pretty shocked to see both grandmaster flash and
afrikaa baambaataa using serato recently.)

1) I'm old and have a herniated disc in my back and I'm not crazy
about lugging a record box.
2) I have too much going on in my life to practice with turntables
enough to get beyond the mechanics of mixing.
3) I have to drive to Chicago to buy dance vinyl if I want it, so I
buy digital downloads instead.
4) I like my effects, and I don't want to pay $1500 for a DJ mixer
with them when I already have a computer and fancy
sound card.
