Err the Koss earbuds: http://www.amazon.com/Koss-SPARKPLUG-Stereo-Ear-Plugs/dp/B00081A2DQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8s=electronicsqid=1221442341sr=1-1 On Sun, Sep 14, 2008 at 8:31 PM, kent williams [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I've tried earbuds, and the ones that were the best balance between price, sound, and comfort for me were the dirt cheap Koss:

I've tried earbuds, and the ones that were the best balance between price, sound, and comfort for me were the dirt cheap Koss: But earbuds in general bug me -- I haven't found any that were comfortable or held an acoustically valid seal in my ear canals, so my vote goes to these: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-202-Headphones/dp/B65BP9/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8s=electronicsqid=1221441987sr=8-1 They're very light, only cost $25, and do a surprisingly good job cutting ambient noise. And they sound pretty good to me. I've spent too much on expensive headphones that have gotten broken or stolen, so if it leaves my house it has to be basically disposable. The HD202s have lasted 6 months riding around in my backpack and still look new, despite being light, plastic, and cheap looking. I'm done crying over Grado SR80s when I lose the earmuff and the plug goes wonky. TP told me that he DJ's with a telephone because they work, they're cheap, and no one wants to steal them.
(313) OT: earbud recommendations?
I'm in the market for some new earbuds for ipod listening on the train. It's been about a year since this subject was last mentioned on list, I checked the archives but thought an update wouldn't hurt. I want something very loud with strong, clear defined bass response. They need to block a significant amount of outside sound so that i don't have to hear chatter or rail noise. So what's everybody using for earbuds these days? I'm considering one of the following: http://www.amazon.com/Shure-E2c-n-Sound-Isolating-Earphones/dp/B000E5GKW8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8s=electronicsqid=1221435680sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Vibe-Earbuds-Gunmetal-Black/dp/B000V5L5MG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8s=electronicsqid=1221436093sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Research-ER4S-Reference-Earphones/dp/B000300Y9O/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8coliid=I3TBZ27N3IMN3Ocolid=2ZPLTMQTI9YUX http://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Research-Portable-Earphones-Black/dp/B000XPG2QI/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8s=electronicsqid=1221434596sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-IE-10-Professional-Reference-Monitors/dp/B000JNNNBQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8s=musical-instrumentsqid=1221436137sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SHE9850-Headphones-Advanced-Acoustics/dp/B00176TEGM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8s=electronicsqid=1221435109sr=1-1 or your recommendation under $175 Thanks in advance! -- peace, frank dj mix archive: http://www.deejaycountzero.com
