(313) Carl Craig remixes Hot Chip
http://www.urb.com/2010/01/08/hot-chip-one-life-stand-carl-craig-remix I have no use for Hot Chip, myself, and the cynically minded might view this as the latest chapter in CC's selling out. But I actually rather like this remix on its own terms. The original track? Eecchh
(313) Still on the Carl Craig beat...
http://www.xlr8r.com/mp3/2010/01/experimento You can read that page for a description, but I'll tell you what xlr8r won't -- this is some sort of modular synth slow morph thing with no drums...
(313) four tet plastic people mix -- track ID
http://soundcloud.com/four-tet/much-love-to-the-plastic-people-dj-mix-december-2009 Not Detroit but ... well I know someone here will know what the drumssax track that comes in at around the 59 minute track? Earlier in the mix he drops in the second movement of Philip Glass The Photographer and then brings in a track in the same key with a similar chord progression. Just because he can I guess ;-)

Re: (313) four tet plastic people mix -- track ID
there's an incomplete tracklist here http://www.last.fm/music/Four+Tet/_/Much+Love+To+The+Plastic+People the track you want is De I Comahlee Ah by Jackie McLean / Carvin Michael on Antiquity i think that's floe not photographer, and i think it might be an unreleased remix from something somebody did for glasscuts remixed On Fri, Jan 8, 2010 at 5:23 PM, kent williams chaircrus...@gmail.com wrote: http://soundcloud.com/four-tet/much-love-to-the-plastic-people-dj-mix-december-2009 Not Detroit but ... well I know someone here will know what the drumssax track that comes in at around the 59 minute track? Maybe you can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear - that is, if you have some silk in your pocket. The other alternative is to totally ignore the track in question (an Aphex type of stunt) or trash it (like U-ziq did with the Auteurs). I still have a copy of Acacia's Sway, which I bought for the Plaid mix. Bad move, as Plaid actually tried to work with the source material. The most palatable remix on the disc was from Anthony Manning, who took the minimalist approach, using as little of the source material as humanly possible, yet still retaining a tiny glimmer of association with the original, rather like gingerly handling a turd with as little contact as possible kent williams wrote: http://www.urb.com/2010/01/08/hot-chip-one-life-stand-carl-craig-remix I have no use for Hot Chip, myself, and the cynically minded might view this as the latest chapter in CC's selling out.
