Re: (313) Article on Detroit in the UK Guardian

2010-03-15 Thread robin

Watched this yesterday. Was interesting but then I take an interest in
this so know the background.
The editing was a little annoying and the repeated use of car crash
noises and screams got tired very quickly.

And while I'm grumbling why use Eminem in the soundtrack (yep, I'm
almost back on topic :) )

(313) Download of Scott Grooves mix

2010-03-15 Thread David Powers
Okay, so there is a very nice Scott Grooves mix, which you can stream
online here:
http://www.mixesdb.com/db/index.php/2009-09-25_-_Scott_Grooves_-_FACT_Mix_86

However, the original link, below, no longer has the mix available for download:
http://www.factmag.com/2009/09/25/fact-mix-86-scott-grooves/

Did anyone happen to grab this while it was up?

Nice heads up... these tracks are much hotter... they've got some real
funk and substance to them.

I liked the underlying rhythm track and especially the synth line that
runs under everything, but didn't like the little distorted acid hit
that hits on the offbeat every two beats through the entire
song.Unfortunately, when a song is this stripped down, it only takes
one bad sound to ruin it for me. Also wasn't the biggest fan of the
synth pad wash. Though I could have lived with it had that other sound
not been there, I'd have liked it more if it was a little darker
 sounding.
