Maybe you should track down Jason Brunton at Iridite. I'm not sure if
 he still reads the list.

Re: (313) Releasing new vinyl -- advice wanted

2010-04-16 Thread david smith
With the way the USD is it might be cheaper to manufacture the records
in Detroit and import them to Europe.

I worked with Ron one time and these are the only notes I kept:
Just remember to keep your bass centered and not panning from channel
to channel, it can disrupt the needle. In general the shorter the
track the louder it can be pressed and 45 rpm is a higher resolution
than 33.

Acetate will last as long as vinyl so long as keep
hand-oil/contamination free from the surface.

(313) ADMINISTRATIVA: Digest Subscribers Problems resolved...

2010-04-16 Thread kent williams
Apparently there was a problem on Hyperreal, whereby people who
subscribe to the 313-digest were having their posts bounce. This was
apparently a problem system-wide on hyperreal and it's now resolved.

I know I heard from 3 or 4 people who were getting their posts
bounced; I presume there may be more subscribers who ran into this
that didn't bother to complain...

At any rate, post away, digesters!
