So is this one more or less believable than the Mark Verbos set that got passed around as Jeff Mills vs. Rob Hood at Limelight? There are a few odd things one could think about that tweet apparently from DM, denying he did the mix in question. There's also the fact that that tweet now seems to have disappeared from his timeline. Even weirder, Derrick also sent the another tweet yesterday about the same mix, I think: derrickmayday Derrick May A new favorite: Derrick May Live @ Music Institute - 1988 by technobar soundcloud.com/technobar/derr… on #SoundCloud 1 Dec [Direct copy/paste from his timeline] Ken -Original Message- From: 1-11 [mailto:1...@bethere.co.uk] Sent: 02 December 2011 15:45 To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: RE: (313) One for the gramps again - Mayday @ The Music Institute, '88 My slippers are warming by the fire and I've just opened another packet of Werther's Originals in anticipation. -Original Message- From: Odeluga, Ken [mailto:ken.odel...@dowjones.com] Sent: Friday, December 02, 2011 2:05 PM To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: RE: (313) One for the gramps again - Mayday @ The Music Institute, '88 Interesting developments... let's see -Original Message- From: mkb.dirty...@gmail.com [mailto:mkb.dirty...@gmail.com] On Behalf Of Matt Kane's Brain Sent: 02 December 2011 13:40 To: Robin Pinning Cc: trm; 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: (313) One for the gramps again - Mayday @ The Music Institute, '88 So is this one more or less believable than the Mark Verbos set that got passed around as Jeff Mills vs. Rob Hood at Limelight? (313) Low pH Wild Kingdom
Tonight's Wild Kingdom starts with a couple of Sheffield chestnuts from TAGC and LFO (they were from Leeds, but they put Sheffield's Warp Records on the map big time). The pH gets progressively lower, culminating in a set from DJ DB, founder of SM:)E Communications, featuring classic Cologne acid from the mid 90's. He's the DJ of the month for December. If you want to know about last week's set, try http://www.kfjc.org/music/playlist.php?i=39499 . The Wild Kingdom airs on KFJC-FM 89.7, Friday Night/Saturday Morning, 10P-2A (6A-10A GMT). Potential listeners outside the San Francisco Bay area can find a webcast at http://www.kfjc.org/netcast/index.php . Present and past Wild Kingdom playlists are also archived at kfjc.org. You can also check out archived playlists from my first KFJC show Just Desserts that was on Fridays 10P-2A from 1992 through 1999. Archived playlists exist for that show starting from Fall 1995 to New Year's Eve 1999/2000, so you can see what what I'm up to these days is pretty much consistent with what I was up to all along. If you do tune in (especially via the web), please take a little time to let me know your locale. I'm also interested in promo music from all over and in promoting local (San Francisco Bay area) techno-type events. If you want to do some promotion for an event, contact the KFJC promotions department at pr...@kfjc.org to arrange ticket giveaways and/or to send information for inclusion in our concert outlook. Thanks to those who have sent promo music so far. Regards, Richard Hester Mr. Goodwrench The Wild Kingdom FR 10P-2A KFJC-FM 89.7 Los Altos Hills, California, USA
