(313) (RE) 313 Yokoto of delsin fame mix tape
Can someone ID the track that's playing at the 20 minute mark? It's making my day as I type. (313) Timebomb...was Tejada/Maxwell in SF
Speaking of timebomb... Does anyone else notice the similarities of timebomb to the background music on the Verizon Wireless Radio Commercials? The guitar pattern in the commercial is exactly like timebomb to my ears...Anyone? Anyone? I'm off to eat deep fried turkey. -Original Message- From: Thomas D. (313) RE: Looking for non-beat 313 and 313 related music (playlist for falling asleep)
I hope someone hasn't mentioned this already... Y'all need to check out a CD entitled Illuminati Audio Science (Deepchord Continuous Flow mix) by Rod Modell from deepchord and mixed by Kevin Hanton. It is FANTASTIC if you'rer into deepchord or bottom-of-the-ocean-deep dub... It's on the silentes label. I lent it to my friend that had a 2400 mile road trip to make, and he said he never changed the disc. Chris -Original Message- From: S. As tracks with a strong (means almost any) beat are not properly working for that, I am looking out for chilly tracks. Hypnotic non pumpin music to find a light definition. Any recommendations ? Preferably something that I can still buy today. CD or DRM free compressed music format would be very nice, records makes things for me just more complicated but I would go for that if the tracks are worth it. kind regards, Stefan -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Nice Mix. Dug from deep in the old crates. Some of my favorites from when music didn't have all the labels associated with it.
RE: (313) WreckaTime
I too felt a loss reading that Record Time closed. As long as the Clique doesn't close I'll be able to manage. I'll miss seeing the Sorry, We're Open / Yes, We're Closed sign on the door. I have to admit that in more recent years I have found more things at melodies and memories though... (313) Portable .WAV recorder ? for livesets/mixes
Hi, Is anyone aware of a portable recorder with Line in that records in .wav format? My mixer has a -10 dB RCA record out that I'd like to take advantage of. I am looking for something similar to the old Creative Nomad, that was basically a hard disk recorder, but the user interface and getting them to work with XP are horrible. I'd prefer not to record to MP3 format or mini disk, and want to avoid the hassle of tearing down the computer to move it to my 'DJ room' since I don't have a laptop. Any Help? Chris
RE: (313) OMAR-S,Oasis#14,FXHE RECORDINGS,12 sounding prettyfilthy.. gotone ordered....
I love Detroit house as much as the next guy on this list, but I really do not see what I am missing with these records. Not hating, but I've heard sooo much about these records, and I can't seem to find what I am obviously missing. To his credit, I have heard some great tracks from him, but I am not feeling most of them. I can see collectors being all over the seemingly underground style hand written white labels, but that's not what I buy records. For the benefit of me and others on this list that may feel the same, please list the essential Omar-S releases that I need to hear to change my mind. It's just a kick and bassline for most of the clip then some voco stuff comes in. does it get better? I'm asking because omar has in the past just let that loop run and called it a track (sometimes to great effect though. If that's the case with this track though, I'm gonna actually buy lunch today.

(313) Re: Hello 313, I am....
Name: Chris O'Connor Age: 32 Live: Pittsburgh, PA First thing that made me like electronic music: Hearing the Art of Noise Beat Box (diversion one) when I was 11 years old in 1983. I still remember the moment. Then I got into early hip hop stuff which, at the time was very hard to find. I used to stay up late with rigged antennas trying to pull in the distant college radio shows to tape them. Any time I traveled with my folks, I always had a radio with me to tape stuff being played in other cities. At an early age I had an obsessed with hearing and finding new music. Thankfully my parents gave me some money for it. First Party and exposure to techno: Function in Cleveland in 1998. All of the Swedish guys, Derrick May, Terry Mullan, and many more... I was totally blown away by the music and vibe. What was nice was that I was totally sober, and knew none of the names. It wasn't too much longer that I realized that the only way to get this music was on vinyl. So I went to a record store and bought Code Red 10 and UR Interstellar Fugitives. Haven't looked back since. Favorite Club: In Pittsburgh? Yeah right I did like Twilo (NYC) when I went there Favorite place for breakfast in Detroit: The Clique Favorite Beer: Bell's Two Hearted Ale Favorite Sets at any of the Festivals : Deep Chord live, Close 2nd the cpop stage one year with rick wade, norm talley, etc.
RE: (313) Art of Noise
I still remember how heartbroken I was when the Art of Noise played on Saturday Night Live, and I hit record on the VCR and fell asleep. When I woke up I hit play then realized the VCR was set on channel 2 instead of 3 so I didn't get the recording. That sucked. Much trauma for an obsessed 12 year old Does anyone have that one recorded? -Original Message- From: matt kane's brain [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, June 17, 2005 11:44 AM To: Chris O'Connor; 313@hyperreal.org Subject: (313) Art of Noise At 11:37 AM 6/17/2005, Chris O'Connor wrote: Hearing the Art of Noise Beat Box (diversion one) when I was 11 years old in 1983. Unfortunately it was streaming-only, and I lacked the patience to try and capture it. Does anyone have a copy? I should finally buy a copy of the Seduction of Claude Debussy. Re: (313) the orb on kompakt??
All this talk about Kompakt got me thinking. I haven't bought that many recent Kompakt releases. So I did some digging and pulled out some of what I consider my favorite Kompakt releases, most of which are from 1999 - 2001: M Mayer - 174 R. Voigt - Robson Ponte Sascha Funke - drei auf drei Closer Music - one two three (no gravity) Chris
Re: (313) newish soundstream EP
Upon hearing the samples, I agree. It's a good record, but it's not as stellar as the first soundstream record. I'll still buy it because Smith-n-Hack are always in my buy on sight category. And, what's up with the amount of disco re-edits lately. It seems that a lot of folks are swinging from that tree. Am I missing something? (313) 7 centre holes - straw poll
I prefer the small holes like the UR 7's. The new Burial Mix 7's are really super tight on the stock Technics 45 adapter.
