Re: (313) Blade Runner OST

2008-10-26 Thread Hamish Jooste
Thanks for that update, I will look out for it. I got to see the whole
soundtrack performed live in April this year in London (at the Royal
Festival Hall, South Bank) by the Heritage Orchestra, mixed by Massive
Attack. All I could say at the end was WOW...

This is probably the most influential soundtrack ever for electronic
buffs and now, to coincide with the film's 25th anniversary, it's been
issued as a triple-CD set - you get the 1994 soundtrack album
(remastered), a disk of previously unreleased bonus material, and new
music by Vangelis inspired by Blade Runner. I haven't played the last 2
disks yet. ;) Out thru Warner. I figured someone here may be interested!

I 'spoke' to Eddie a month (on email) or two ago and he was just
coming out. I wasn't aware it was even released. It must be days or
weeks old only.

It'll be on CD and vinyl.

But is it coming out on CD, on vinyl?

Yes, well Strings of Life was huge, of course, and a must. Orbital's
'Chime' also springs to mind.

Notice the shocking omission of Strings of Life at the very least. So,
what are your top 10 Detroit Synth riffs?
