[313] MY DEMF highlights

2001-05-29 Thread Jess Staller
My highlights of the DEMF included:
1)Laurent Garnier's set - incredible. I loved the shout out to Carl Craig.
Meeting Laurent in the lobby of the hotel on Monday morning, he is a cool
guy.
2)Watching De La Soul perform.
3)Going to One-X and meeting a fellow 313'er, My line was "Um, I don't want
to sound like a computer geek, but are you on the 313 list"
:)
Dancing my ass off to Ben Simms, then to Marco Carola.
4) Kelli Hand, Jazzanova, John Acquiviva, Titonton, Inner City, Kit
Clayton's sets.

I thought Ford did go a bit out with the Two Techno-edition Focuses, but
hey, what did we expect with corporate sponsorship.
Overall I had a good time.

Re: [313] Detroit hotel info needed

2001-05-16 Thread Jess Staller
The Ponch is a nice hotel with a great location. I think it was a good
idea to re-book because I was wondering around Detroit last year looking
for the 7th city party and it was in the GHETT-O.

Yes! I've noticed and i guess more power to them, but it is quite dis-
heartening.

I certainly hope Carl Craig takes action against them for breech of
contract, but we don't know what his contract entails. I will say, I was
disappointed that Alan (T1000) wasn't invited to perform either year, but
that's another subject I will not get into.

I think my biggest concern is that SFX will have more say in the line-up
next year. Personally, I think SFX is pure evil.
