At 07:58 AM 2/15/2001 -0800, you wrote: *the following message is not to be read with any hostility, but rather hunger induced crankiness* *snip* It IS happening. May 25-27. I suggest you stay until the 28th and come in the 24th because parties will rock harder core this year- as they do with the progression of any music festival. Things will be different, but hopefully the spirit will be the same. It IS happening. According to the website (www.electronicmusicfest.com) it is happening May 26-28. So, I alternately will suggest you arrive on the 25th and leave on the 29th, for much the same reason Diana has. Didn't want any of the tourists booking bad times. :) Perhaps hunger also induced data entry errors, diana? Josh dj - phase 10, the grind WCBN-FM 88.3, ann arbor, mi
Not quite 313, but...
Question - Anybody on list know of any 313-type things happening in NYC weeekend of Feb. 23nd-25th? Josh Subversion is a waveform process.
Re: [313] Gemini CDJ Package for Sale
Just as an example of a time when I wished I had a wider pitch range Trying to sync up a copy of Coil, Gloria Jones, and Softcell's versions of "Tainted Love." (there was a reason!) Coil's is provided on a 45rpm disc. It's very, very slow. Even pitched to +8, very slow. Gloria Jones' is on a 33rpm (at least, my copy.) Pitched to -8, it's still a bit faster than Coil's. Softcell's is more in line with Gloria Jone's version, a little bit slower maybe - also didn't really sync to the Coil. So, I needed something more on the order of +/-12 or 15%, which I couldn't do, given that they weren't my tables and I had 10 minutes before the show. That said, I tend to mix a lot of electro into mixes, and often can't move from track to track due to pitch differences. Finally: 313 relevance: Tristan - like the MP3 station. Good choices on the tracks. Josh Landau dj for phase 10, the grind WCBN-FM 88.3, ann arbor, mi
Re: [313] Reversing the phase
This is actually a relatively easy task. All that's necessary is going into the wires from one of your turntables (doesn't matter which one, but only one!) and reversing the connection between high and low. Then, go play doubles. The closer you get them to perfectly synched, the more phase cancellations you will hear. Of course, it's usually easier just to slightly de-phase doubles, and then re-phase them to drop it back in, but what fun is that when you can go cut some wire?? =) Josh Landau WCBN-FM 88.3, ann arbor, mi
