Agreed, No UFOs or at least Cybotron's Techno City should be on this. WTF. Not to put too fine a point on it, it's a lot whiter that I'd go, and includes some tracks that I think are reductive and boring. *cough* Swedish *cough* I'm sure a lot of you can come up with your own '20 _real_ techno tracks' list. -- peace, frank dj mix archive: http://www.deejaycountzero.com
(313) Vancouver through September 6
Hey, guys. I'll be in Vancouver from this Sunday through September 6. Anything going on? I'm planning on visiting Zulu Records while I'm there, but thought I'd put out feelers to any locals on the list. Thanks.
Re: (313) mills the good robot
Yeah, Denise and I are here to represent the female contingent. Magda is one of the better DJs I've seen live and I would love it if she, Kate Simko or Minx would play in Dallas I'd be there in a heartbeat. Heather and Dayhota always kill it when they are here; I hope I live to see the day when female DJs aren't regulated to playing all-girl theme nights, topless, or as some kind of other gimmick but rather, strictly for their talent. DJing is one of the few music realms where it really shouldn't matter what you look like; unfortunately, that's true only for the guys. Re: (313) Warp20 Box Set
I got to the word Elecktroids and got out my credit card, but I'm still debating over the package itself vs. the music releases alone... hm. I agree that some parts of the package are complete overkill, but I'd feel incomplete without my Wax Trax black box set, and this one has a lot more to offer than typical box set releases. At least they're letting people have some say in the content, which is gratifying. That GAK EP is by far one of my favorite Warp releases of all time... I'm glad they're still going strong as a label. (313) anyone go to the Omar S/Aril Brikha afterparty at The Works?
I can't remember who played before Omar S. went on in the back room and it's killing me now. His set vibrated me right off the bench I was sitting on. Was anybody else there? Thanks in advance! Yeah, I know you all were at the Jeff Mills party... I just couldn't hit both, especially after fangirling all over Aril in the elevator earlier that day.

I will also be attending, not that I am anyone special, but I got one of Todd's shirts last year and hope to see some of'em around the festival! Getting there earlyish Friday to hopefully hop by Oslo and anything else that's good... maybe the Old Miami, too? It'll be my 37th birthday. Re: (313) track ID please?
Yeah if you click on the tracklisting link, it's empty. I've search everywhere. I would clip it but I don't have the software and only have a work computer, no computer at home (it died, alas).
