(313) all this electro talk
has got me itching to expand my electro collection. there's a breaks night in boston with a pretty good following but it's hard to spin a good set with only 15 records ;) so then, which electro labels should i look for next time i'm at the shop? -- Matt Kane [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: (313) looking for tips.
depending on what time the set is, you can play whatever nasty words you want (according to the FCC at least, station regulations might be different). 10pm-6am indecent content is allowed. as long as it's a nasty word in a song, you're OK. don't swear if you're talking though! hopefully you will get a room to yourself to mix in so you have your own monitors. otherwise the delay tom was talking about will hopefully be able to be circumvented (at my station it's by jacking the monitor into board outputs instead of a radio tuned to the station with a pushbutton on the board) hopefully you will not have to mix on the actual studio board, because they are teh suck for cueing and beatmatching. remember that each caller means that about 10 people are listening! so they tell me anyway, and they don't say whether that includes the truck driver that wants to marry me, the drunk guy who wants me to get with his girlfriend so he can photograph, the people who ask whether meg ryan and melanie griffith are related, or the guy who wants to know if i wear boxers or briefs. Re: (313) OUCH!
I once had a copy of Silent Phase - Psychotic Funk that was a wee bit warped due to a maladjusted heating system. I tried to bend the warp out. I bent it a little too far and it exploded. :( At 08:18 AM 11/8/2004, lee herrington wrote: hi folks. i was checking out matt macqueen's site over the weekend. www.sonicunset.com on the site there was a terrible tale of a rare kenny larkin EP that was sat upon and destroyed. i have a copy of that very EP and i know i would be quite gutted if it was damaged. anyone else have any tragic tales of damaged detroit vinyl? p.s. excellent halloween mixes at www.sonicsunset.com check 'em out.
