Indeed! These compilations had some very good tracks (in different genres), a good way to discover new artists. The Jamie Myerson track on TA2 is IMHO the best one on that volume, it's atmospheric jungle. Haven't found any other productions by that guy though. Bart www.freestylegrooves.com

AFAIK there never was a collaboration between DM and GU. The only track on that album that is co-produced is "Entercourse of the new age" (with Craig Gilliam), which first appeared on the We Have Arrived EP. It was released on the Chicago Underground label in 91 or 92 (and very much worth tracking down btw). Maybe the title only means it was because some DM tracks had influenced him into making "may detroit"? If you want more info on GU, check www.freestylegrooves.com/gu bye, Bart www.freestylegrooves.com
(313) Track ID (mid 90s ambient mix)
OK, this is not really 313 related, but seeing so many track ID's get solved on this list, I wanted to take a chance. ;) The tracks are from a chill-out/ambient-house mixtape that I have had lying around for years. I would be very thankfull if anyone could ID any of these tracks. You can listen to or download the mix here: http://users.pandora.be/funk/. Bart www.freestylegrooves.com

RE: (313) New Beat/Saunderson etc
Well I'm no expert, but since I live in Belgium, I know a thing or two about New Beat. ;) I have the particular record on Speed recs. and it's pretty much the same as Saunderson's original (his name appears in the credits). Altough they might have slowed it down a bit slower for that typical New Beat- beat. :) Before R&S was R&S, it was called Ferrari (hence the logo that still resembles the Ferrari cars logo) They were kind of a cult/trendy thing here in Belgium during the New Beat period of the late 80s. hope this helps, bye Bart www.freestylegrooves.com > -Original Message- > From: Tom Robbins/Magic Feet [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: maandag 2 december 2002 18:24 > To: 313 mailing list > Subject: (313) New Beat/Saunderson etc > > > I'm currently researching an article on the Belgian New Beat scene and I > found a listing for a 1988 cover of Reese & Santonio's 'Rock To > The Beat' on > Speed Recs with vocals credited to Jade4U and Nicky Trax. RE: [313] OT broken beat stuff
Some of the releases on 2000 Black or Archive might have what you're looking for ... Artists like Nubian Mindz, Phoojun, the "Avenues and Alleways" 12" from Titonton Duvante, etc. Very electronic sounding with broken beat influences... Also some stuff from Delsin has this kind of sound, check the Aardvarck things or the Future Beat Alliance 12" (not the album). >From what I've heard the Agent K album is pretty "jazz-funky" though.
