Re: (313) roll call?
Still here. Originally subbed in '94 or so. On and off since then. In Sydney now and indulging in a fair bit of music every day but not getting enough time to seriously write any. Re: (313) NPR on Chicago Footwork music
Even more fascinating, I can't think of any analogous dance culture amongst white people. Well, there's the Melbourne shuffle, but the moves aren't a patch on the Chicago stuff, and it's best to watch with the sound off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGAatCB4KCwfeature=related
(313) Reference track
Hi I know this isn't a production list, but I was wondering what 313'ers would pick as a reference track for tuning a sound system, studio, and comparing their own mix balance against? What do you think the ideal techno reference track is? S Simon Swain http://Obscure.co.nz +61 418 30 20 20
Re: (313) Reference track
Yeah I was going to try to make say an 8 track cd to use. Wanted to get some different inputs What you say is the idea though, that and to A/B my own tracks with. My answer is that it would differ from person to person, I'd say pick a few different tracks that sound different from each other and with which you are quite familiar, then make them all sound their best on the system and you should be golden. (313) Cisco's Demise
Word on the street from Tokyo: I know... its not good.. well, Cisco in Osaka is closing down, but they are combining all the stores in Tokyo into 1 store. So, therell be techno, house, trance, reggae in one store. Shame, I have some special memories of Cisco Techno in Shibuya. (313) Global Wierding
So they're doing 3 things I think It goes beyond that -- they have a lot of reach and hopefully by setting a good example they can hopefully encourage others to follow suit, which is way more effective than any measures they could take alone, and imho great use of that reach and deserves some respect.
