Re: [313] Post-disco major label artists

Also, I was just reminded that Lil Louis, released on Epic dance, came just
after Inner City's success. Does anyone know how well his products
performed or his history with Epic?

What about Fantasy Records, which dance artists have they signed/released
since Cybotron ?? C'mon playas...let's get on down with this
discussion...

basically lil louis didn't have big commercial success with epic as they were
expecting and they dropped him like a hot potato. they started off releasing
french kiss in 1987 and then put out his LP from the mind of lil louis
which was critically acclaimed, but not a big seller. then he released
journey with the lonely and it once again didn't sell. epic was really not
happy with the lack of commercial sales and then left him on his own after
that. he ended up taking a hiatus from releasing tracks for a while and then
came back under the name Black Magic, starting with the track freedom which
obviously was not an epic release.

as far as fantasy records, you can look up their catalog online...i was
searching through some of it and it looks like they recently released a CCR
album. yeeehaw.

BERLIN (AP) — Oskar Sala, the German composer and physicist whose novel
musical instrument produced the sound effects for Alfred Hitchcock’s The
Birds, died Tuesday. He was 91. Sala developed and mastered the trautonium,
billed as the world's first electronic musical instrument when it was
invented in 1929. The trautonium was most famously employed to produce the
bird calls in Hitch|cock’s 1963 film.

hopefully, from here on out, we can all accept that mock-praise in
her name is just trolling, ignore it, and get on with other topics.

heheh. 313 not beat a dead horse into the ground? that will be a first.

i'm sure you could find four people on here that would asskiss enough to try
and get booked at demf2002. but probably not on the list itself, cuz it's
not en vogue to like carol marvin after last year.

Re: [313] tod sines and charles noel.

2002-02-15 Thread Teknologik909
i would most definitely say go...

definitely a couple of live pas worth catching, especially sines. i was a
tad bit disappointed in the live performance at times by noel, but what it
was lacking was just bass...i dunno. i'm a bass fanatic and there was just
an element missing to the live sets that his actual production has...

todd sines...all i have to say is go see him any opportunity you have...his
live pa is phenomenal in my personal opinion. i haven't heard him play in
over six months but the last time was definitely great. he topped stewart
walker's set by a longshot at that particular show.

yes. i'm back for a lil bit to lurk and read some posts about some techno.
i've been so out of the loop on techno as i am stuck in HouseLand U.S.A. (no
complaints since it's good house though.)

anyone hear any good releases lately? :)

curiouser and curiouser...
