check out interstellarsounds you'll find a sound snippet there 'Without a shadow of a doubt this is Moodymann's best known piece and dropped at the right time has the ability to send a crowd absolutely berserk, with its seemingly endless tease of an intro, utilising Bob James' original, 'Spunky' to colossal effect and over layered with KDJ's now familiar skits and background party chatter, before exploding into one of the funkiest bass lines you'll ever here. Essential Moodymann. Limited, single sided pressing.' cheers dUb Am 03.06.2005 21:45 Uhr schrieb /0 unter [EMAIL PROTECTED]: thanks maarten! hi there... just reda on bassics.de there is new (!!) material awaited from mr. kenny dixon jr. anyone can confirm this or heart anything 'bout this??? - Randolph - This Is What It Is Mahogani 08 LP (you know that there was only a CD version until now!) - Amp Dog Knights - Over You Mahogani 15 (well, what about Mahogani 11, 12, 13, 14 ? ;-)) and last but not least... - Kenny Dixon Jr. - How Sweed It Is KDJ 34 (so he will continue the KDJ imprint...?! we hope so!)

(313) the underground classics vol-1 on funky chocolate
hi there... u, this compilation seems really to be sweet like chocolate :) got my copy end of last week, contains the moodymann mix of norma jean bell's 'baddest bitch', rick wade's 'angry pimp', mike huckaby's 'luv time' and the great 'I might do something wrong' in the mix that theo parrish played on 'these days and time 1' ... you won't believe how long I'm looking for that mix, as it is released in quite a few different ones. kudos to Funky Chocolate!!! guess I never had such a quality compilation in my box but the 12inch releases of Funky Chocolate are pretty hard to find, especially 01, 02 and 04 ... any ideas, tips, links??? irie dUb
(313) Fake Whitelabel?!?! Sade - Moodymann + Kenny Larkin Mixes
hi ... does anyone have deeper infos on these??? just read at piccadillyrec, that they discovered they are NOT from KDJ and Larkin they write: OK folks, we got stung on this one. It turns out that the first two mixes on this 12 AREN'T by Kenny Larkin and Moodymann, but are actually by Hani and Naked Music. As it came from a reputable source with strong Detroit links we were so confident of its authenticity that I'd already written the description and then it was MP3ed as soon as it arrived and posted on the site. If anyone who's already bought it wants to return it for a full refund, go for it. But it is a damn fine record in it's own right! shouts dUb

hey martin... that's a good choice! the thing is that some of the best stuff isn't available so easily :) some kenny musthave-tracks: Shades of Jae (released on KDJ as Part1+Part2, but VERY RARE ... rereleased this year on the 3-LP 'Black Mahogani' on Peacefrog, if they got this still - get it!) I can't kick the feeling when it hits (released on KDJ in a stunning 16 minute version and a shorter mix with the mann talking on the Planet E album 'Silence Introduction') KDJ 30 ... an 11 minute onesided masterpiece, was also released this year, with a little bit of luck you still should find it ...guess to get the peacefrog albums 'Forevernevermore' and 'Black Mahogani' will be good taster, cause there are quite a few tracks which were released earlier. after a few listens you'll be addicted : some prefer the older tunes which are more floor-compatible, but the later stuff which is more jazzy, abstract and ahh - sorry- weird is also delicious! for theo it's a good time, cause there were also a few re-releases some days ago, my personal advice check out these: The Baby Steps EP (sound signature/elevate) I can take it (Sound Signature) Solitary Flight (Sound Signature) Twin Cities/Dance Sing (Harmonie Park) you get also a few DJ mixes on sound signature CD-R, like 'These Days and Times', 'Contemporhythms' etc. - deep disco soul afro mixed in incredible ways... cheers dUb Am 13.12.2004 15:09 Uhr schrieb Martin Dust unter [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Right, I'm off for a big shop tomorrow and plan to get to the bottom of this Theo and Kenny thang, so my question is, what should I pick up? (313) Re:(313) Re:(313) Hit Me Up/Theo/Kenny
hi Maarten, would say the long version is more compatible for DJing ... the KDJ6-version starts directly with the beat and is somehow always in action :) it has a bigger break with some live talk after the middle. in the LP-version you have very much of these pad-sounds and him saying the much talked about stuff like 'I support niggers ... and I support niggers from the D' etc., which is missing completely on the 12inch release. quite a lot titles on his albums are mostly shorter and/or slightly edited... like the tracks tribute, forevernevermore or black mahogany cheers dUb Am 13.12.2004 16:23 Uhr schrieb Maarten Baute unter [EMAIL PROTECTED]: I can't kick the feeling when it hits (released on KDJ in a stunning 16 minute version and a shorter mix with the mann talking on the Planet E album 'Silence Introduction') So does KDJ6 contain a 16 minute version? I always tought KDJ6 contained the exact same track as the one released on the silentintroduction album... How is that 16 minute version then? Does it add much to the short edit on the album?
