ok peoples. Ive been after this record for way to long now. Atleast 10 years. gary's gang :lets love dance tonight The main problem is i still dont know what version im searching for?? I know its not the original. Thats it. Im after the instrumental version that ive heard many a hip hop dj play aswell as techno djs (d may, c craig and ive heard jeff mills play it plenty of times also) does anyone know what label its on?? version?? etc??? and another one I know very little about except ive heard dj genesis (on her first mix cd), norman jay and TP play it numerous times. Very housy, upbeat, vocal track. Vocals are here comes the sun I love the sunnn I know thats an extremely average description but its all i got :) Reading it back to myself - Pathetic ps enjoyed the moodymann compilation mix dissapointed with rolandos most recent effort. the 2nd cd is nice but the 1st?? I dont know. Maybe im still pieved from flying from Dublin to brussells and him not showing, or maybe its when i flew to paris and he didnt show??? anyway. average One last thing? IS ANYTHING HAPPENING IN SYDNEY THESE DAYS??? Ive been back for 4 months now and nothing (except kenny larkin which was good). Please. Desperate for a couple of beers where there is some decent music! thanks in advance Ed

Hi list, It's a little bit off topic but I'm looking for good broken beat dj's and heard some producers spin but he they ain't called producers for nothing ;) I heard Domu play and he played a very eclectic set. Nice ! Also I heard Seji and I wasn't that happy Dego can spin but sometimes lacks So my question is : what is the best broken beat dj for you and why ? txs, RAW p.s. anybody heard Somatic ? (the engineer of Dego) I have a 12 by him and he rocks big time (one side electro like it should be , other side 'open' broken beat where Kaidi Tatum meets Jimi hendrix ! )

Re: (313) Fw: Techno: Detroit's Gift to the World
so you think eddie fowlkes deserves to be mentioned along with the other three? if he does, then so do about another 10 artist! story of how Juan Atkins, Eddie Fowlkes, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson, four young men from metro Detroit, created and developed this electronic style of dance. what has eddie done to get this sort of mention? An originator? stick to 3 peace ed - Original Message - From: Tristan Watkins [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Sunday, November 17, 2002 11:41 AM Subject: (313) Fw: Techno: Detroit's Gift to the World Optic Studios just sent this out, and I figured this would be something essential to post here. Seems like this is something that's been talked about for a long time and has finally happened. Great to see Eddie Fowlkes name in the same breath as the other 3. Nice that if there's a DEMF this year, this exhibit will still be on then. BTW - I finally got the 3MB feat. Eddie Flashin' Fowlkes album on Tresor, mostly just for Illuminism. I'd only heard the Sun Electric edit of this track on the Tresor 2 comp until now, but damn the full version is even better! Tristan LINK http://www.detroithistorical.org/exhibits/index.asp?MID=368 Techno: Detroit's Gift to the World January 2003 - June 2004 Detroit Historical Museum's Stark Hall History is often thought of as a series of events that occurred a very long time ago. The truth is, history is also what happened yesterday, five minutes ago, and in fact, today's events will be tomorrow's history. With this in mind the Detroit Historical Museum has partnered with the originators of Techno to share the story of their music. This groundbreaking exhibit will trace Techno's early beginning from its Detroit roots to its emergence as a global sensation. An ambitious new exhibit - the world's first on the subject -- that celebrates a style of music born in Detroit that has kept the world dancing for more than 20 years. Learn the straight story of how Juan Atkins, Eddie Fowlkes, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson, four young men from metro Detroit, created and developed this electronic style of dance music and trace its early beginnings from local Detroit clubs to its emergence as a global sensation.

hawtin sucked big time in sydney! bang bang bang predictable mixing cheesy build ups - Original Message - From: Quest Pond [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: kent christopher [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Saturday, September 28, 2002 8:45 PM Subject: Re: (313) Hawtin in Melbourne - ride needed Don't expect too much from him, i have seen ritchie about 4 or more times and he is nothing like he used to be. I even went to melbourne on nye 2 years ago just for this gig and loved it. I Saw him in sydney on wednesday and he played really boring and dare i say almost progressive bouncy loop techno and not even the good stuff. He went quite hard on the chiche mid range sweeps on the allen and heath mixer. Since when did ritchie hawtin smile??? What is going on? too much ibiza?
