Friday April 30
The Bunker
Dan Bell aka DBX (Accelerate/7th City/Logistic | Detroit/Berlin)
klipp av (Stockholm, SE / Cambridge, UK),
DJ Firehorse (idubnewyork | NYC)
Special Note: we finally got our new subwoofer and crossover at subTonic
and
the sound is drastically better down there!
Lucky for us, Dan Bell just so happens to be in NYC this weekend! DBX is
one of the most influential minimal techno producers of all time, and an
outstanding DJ with his hand firmly on the pulse of the current minimal
techno sound (listen to his two amazing mix CDs if you doubt this for a
second). Dan is currently based in Berlin and hasn't played in NYC since
Spinoza and Magda brought him for a set at Openair in 2002, and he wont be
back any time soon. He goes on around 1 and spins until everyone stops
dancing (this will be a late night for sure).
klipp av perform live audio/visual collaborations. They claim to be more
live than most live electronic musicians and video artists. They have
this
to say: This is not prepared over many months preceding to be played back
like a fixed movie, but on the fly, seat of the pants, generative
audiovisual breakbeat cutting. This really is cutting edge. Sounds
interesting.
Firehorse is a very old friend of the Bunker family, adn it's about time
he
played some records for us. Deep dub and Jamaican inspired dancefloor
rockers, mixed in Steve's unique style.
