Re: (313) Electrifying Mojo
I find this hard to believe since detroit radio is total crap! I would imagine that any station would improve with Mojo as music director, but so far ... nothing. Crap. Sattelite would be cool too I guess, but that still doesn't help the void of Detroit radio David Armin-Parcells www.daimusic.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Original Message - From: john saylor [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: robin [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: 313 Org 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Thursday, April 12, 2007 5:45 PM Subject: Re: (313) Electrifying Mojo hi On 4/12/07, robin [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Anyone know anything about this? i know nothing, but would like to know too. i remember the electrified mojo making those nights i worked in detroit in the 80s much better than they would have been otherwise. it's when i was loading trucks full of candy and cigarettes for the fontana brothers ... -- \js [ http://or8.net/~johns/ ]
RE: (313) Electrifying Mojo
I sort of think it would more likely be a *group* of stations in the same company, or at least affiliates (if at all). Why would individual competing stations permit themselves to be programmed by the same individual? It would seem to present too much of a risk of competitive information being passed on to a rival. -Original Message- From: David Armin-Parcells [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 13 April 2007 13:18 To: john saylor; robin Cc: 313 Org Subject: Re: (313) Electrifying Mojo I find this hard to believe since detroit radio is total crap! or, he's programming for a station who's music policy he doesn't actually like? Hence, no publicity desired... (313) Electrifying Mojo
From wikipedia: Most recently, Mojo is serving as Program Director for a handful of Detroit radio stations - he does not publicize which ones - and he is in negotiations to bring his show to XM satellite radio in 2006, where he will not only begin a new show, but also air shows from his archive dating back to 1977. Anyone know anything about this? robin...

from what i've heard, that list of artists for the roostertail eventwhich includes juan atkins, derrick may, eddie fowlkes, jeff mills, electrifying mojo, blake baxter, james pennington, stacey pullen, k-hand, mr. de, keith tucker, alan oldham, octave one, and mike huckaby, according to the press release i sawis of the artists who'll be attending; i'm told that apparently most won't be spinning, or will spin for only a few minutes. it still sounds like it'll be a great event, and i'm bummed that i can't get away this weekend to make it in. re: electrifying mojo: when i interviewed him five years ago, he was still on the air on detroit radio, though when i tuned in it sounded nothing like the halcyon days of the wgpr-fm and wjlb-fm eras. my opportunities to listen to detroit radio come only about twice a year, though, so dan would definitely know better as to whether this is still the case. later, mike Date: Tue, 14 Jan 2003 18:38:26 -0500 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] From: Dan Sicko [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: Andy Mitchell [EMAIL PROTECTED], 313 List 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: (313) Re: (313 Electrifying Mojo.(was Another Freep Article) Message-id: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I'm not sure everyone on that list is actually spinning? No, he's not on the air anywhere at the moment. Seems like 2 or 3 years now at least. Maybe he'll just get on the mic for 20 minutes before everyone spins to set the mood. :) -d On Wednesday, January 15, 2003, at 01:26 AM, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: from what i've heard, that list of artists for the roostertail event—which includes juan atkins, derrick may, eddie fowlkes, jeff mills, electrifying mojo, blake baxter, james pennington, stacey pullen, k-hand, mr. de, keith tucker, alan oldham, octave one, and mike huckaby, according to the press release i saw—is of the artists who'll be attending; i'm told that apparently most won't be spinning, or will spin for only a few minutes. it still sounds like it'll be a great event, and i'm bummed that i can't get away this weekend to make it in. re: electrifying mojo: when i interviewed him five years ago, he was still on the air on detroit radio, though when i tuned in it sounded nothing like the halcyon days of the wgpr-fm and wjlb-fm eras. my opportunities to listen to detroit radio come only about twice a year, though, so dan would definitely know better as to whether this is still the case. later, mike Date: Tue, 14 Jan 2003 18:38:26 -0500 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] From: Dan Sicko [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: Andy Mitchell [EMAIL PROTECTED], 313 List 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: (313) Re: (313 Electrifying Mojo.(was Another Freep Article) Message-id: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I'm not sure everyone on that list is actually spinning?
