(313) Getting off Vestax Technics but along the same lines of

2003-07-29 Thread ian cheshire
ever been to a club and had different decks? it happened
to me and man I think it really does throw you, I mean lets be honest to
have 2 x technics 1 vestax is kinda weird cos you get used to the technics
then
go to the vestax only the touch is different. I know they have the joysticks
but this didn't. also they just don't seem to stay in for long like the
technics do, or is it me?

Plus this joystick thing what exactly does it do? does it help get in it
better (sorry bad english and double meaning there :) - instead of the
very sensitive pitcher? :)

I believe the joystick allows you to *push* and *pull* the record without
touching the record/platter.

Sounds like a cool feature to me. Similar to the old plus/minus buttons on
the Denon CD players before they had a wheel. But I bet this will actually
be precise. :)

So anyone notice any gear brands/models at Movement just to bring this back
around to a 313 relevance?

I'm sure most decks were techics but what about mixers or CD players?

those buttons where horrible to use. the wheel is much more easier to
handle :)

The CDJ 1000s are getting to be fairly standard these days I think (Plastic
People has two, Fabric has two in each room I think). Had a go on the Denon
800 the other day and was very impressed. My CDJ-500s (700 in the states)
does me just fine though. :)

The Allen Heath Xone:64 seems to be gaining on the Pioneer these days from
what I can tell. Love my Xone:32. It just sounds so nice!

Agreed. Takes a lot of practice and a good deal of luck! :)
