Ken, have you tried Rush Hour? http://www.rushhour.nl

All our stuff is easily found there for future
reference. boomkat and smallfish stock our stuff as
well and hit up jason brunton at Rubadub in Glasgow:
http://www.rubadubrecords.com/

Hey Minto, cheers. It's funny, I would have thought the above was the case
but as those outfits didn't put the track on their lists I assumed not. I
will check.

dL011 and dL012 should be out this Oct./Nov.
respectively.

as for fall and winter listening...i pull out the deep
stuff too i.e. stasis, B12, ART comps and various deep
detroit like damy, POD, psyche/bfc etc.

looking forward to the new Iridite and Rei Loci
12s...Craig's 12 on 7th Sign is going in my top 10
releases of the year for sure!

Word. That Rei Loci track's in mine too. Can't wait for the new one from
Headspace :-)

(313) I Love Techno in the Fall.

2003-09-25 Thread Lee Herrington IV

hi folks. well, the days are getting cooler and shorter here on the south
shore of lake erie. for whatever reason, this time of the year i find
myself spinning alot more techno... i can't help but put on model 500 or
early psyche trax. in the summer, all i want to hear is jazzy, deep,
soulful house. come the winter, i'm grabbing for more strand, duplex, keith
tucker EP's. does anyone else find that their musical tastes change with
the seasons?

  cheers,
  lrh

ooh, for sure. My mood also changes dramatically too. constant rain can do
your head in, where as the summer months make this s**thole seem a better
place all together.

summer lp - James Mason - Rhythm Of Life
winter 12's - Ultradyne, dynarec.

Bring me the darkness.

I always reach for my Smiths and cure records in the Fall. They seem to
go together with Autumn, like Beer and nuts... (for me)

 change with the seasons?

Definitely! I always find myself heralding winter with It Is What It Is -
synthesized strings and crisp 909 hi-hats work so much better when it's cold
than they do during the summer, I find.

Over the summer it does seem to me that the music I listen to becomes a bit
more melodic and a bit more soulful in a lot of ways, which becomes less
desirable as the cold sets in and my tastes drift back into a more synthetic
and electronic mindset. Being originally from Glasgow, I kind of suspect that
if I still lived there then I'd listen to techno all year round, as it's during
the cold months that that music appeals most of me.

I have to admit, though, that the music I've been listening to the most in the
last week or so is early 1990s British techno! My bedroom floor is currently
covered in Black Dog, B12, Nuron, Stasis and Reload EPs, which all seem to go
quite well with the current climate...!

So Am I the only one who listens to the same stuff the whole year thru?
I listen to a lot of styles.. but I never prefer a certain style at a
certain time of the year.

autumn equinox started Sept 23 - yay!

your post reminded me of things I've enjoyed lately - this past weekend saw
B12, Gescom, Black Dog, Haujobb, early-mid nineties Cabaret Voltaire, and other
goodies in heavy rotation.

the new LFO is sounding pretty good too :)

Before the MP3 era (and before my youngest son bless his heart wrecked my
5 disc cd player), I would change the rotation every so often. My winter
rotation would include a lot of trio stuff (piano, bass, drums) because
the tinkle of the keys and the spare sounds of the drums would fit well
with the first snows.

Some hip-hop is DEFINITELY more appropriate for the summer for me. The
Score for example is a summer cd...or a spring cd.

I'm not sure whether my dance music mood changes though. This is an
excellent question.

For some reason we have only sold about 2 copies of the LFO album in
our shop- maybe white lettering on a white background makes you hard to
spot!
