Re: (313) New Arpanet LP

2006-11-21 Thread Greg Earle

Finally got a listen to the new Arpanet album. [EMAIL PROTECTED] it's good.

So many interesting sounds that you don't hear anywhere else, with
interesting melodies. And how can you not love something with track
titles like "Chandrasekhar's Limit" and "Lorentz Contraction" and
"Schwarzchild Radius"? (OK, so there's a couple of duff tracks like
"Event Horizon", but overall, it's ace)

- Greg (the failed Caltech Astronomer)

P.S. The Hawtin/Mills show in Hollywood this Friday is going to be
a full-scale (313) reunion - Steve "DJ Horsepower" Lammers is
driving down from SF for it, and Robert "Fixer" Smith will even
stop going to his Blues & Rockabilly shows long enough to make
a Celebrity Guest Appearance! Not to mention the usual suspects
(Yussel & Dahris!, gm, et moi). I can't wait ...

Re: (313) New Arpanet LP

2006-11-14 Thread fab.

If it's ghostly, then it's *definitely* spectral isn't it? Not just
almost. ;)

The new Arpanet LP is really good. Much more structured than the
previous release, but retaining that ghostly, almost spectral feel to
his productions. "Grosvater Paradoxon" in particular is ace.
