I don't see the signal to noise ratio or annoying people as a problem or threat to the list. I don't read every post on the list. if I'm not feeling a thread, i don't open any messages with that subject heading. it's like television - i just change the channel if i don't like the show.
If somebody annoys me i just make a rule in my email program to delete messages from them before they reach my inbox. it's just like the person was booted by the moderator. james www.jbucknell.com
