Lemme be the first to count myself in Paul. Plus, can I request you make a recording of the incriminating set so I can play it to my colleagues. RE: [313] Plug Research.
One of my favourite labels. As far as recommendations, you have to get the Mannequin Lung LP "The Art of Travel" and also the Low Res LP "Approximate Love Boat". They also put out a great series of split 10" records that are worth checking out. Oh and also check out the "Liquid Paper" ep by TD5 - this guy was on a roll back then, from Australia, also known as Voiteck and ran the label Truck Music - anyone know what happened to him? http://www.plugresearch.com Respect JasonB > -- > From: Matthew Mangold[SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Friday, September 06, 2002 1:12 AM > To: 313 > Subject: [313] Plug Research. > > I have just recently been tipped off to the Plug Research label. > Can anyone suggest any must-haves? Re: [313] Plug Research.
kim rapatti's mood ep has always been my favorite. there's some agreeable j.tejada stuff (as mr.hazeltine), an interesting 2x12" sampler, an ep of minimal bass groovers by smyglyssna & a neodetroit album by mannequin lung in the first half of their catalog. plug research had an advanced aesthetic since early on & is one of the paths that led to Microhouse. i don't know anything about their newer stuff. asked about their inspirations the labelmakers once said something like: for a long time it was robert hood, now we've finally gotten around to carl craig. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: [313] plug research 10" series
Matt MacQueen wrote: heard a wicked 10" on Plug Research but forgot the title... (Mr. > Moto?), when did this originally come out? ***Matt: it's a split 10"; sides are: A: "The Pressure" by Mr. Hazeltine (aka John Tejada) featuring Divine Styler B: "Making Sense Of Yesterday" by Mr. Hazeltine and Mr. Moto this was the first in Plug Research's split 10" series. can't remember exactly when the series started. mid-year-ish (2000), perhaps. all the 10"s have been super good. hope this helps. andrew duke :) -- Cognition/Andrew Duke's In The Mix 3rd annual Fundraising Auction for CKDU is now underway: http://techno.ca/cognition auction ends Wednesday November 29 at 12noon AST
