RE: (313) Strong like a lion....

2003-01-23 Thread Craig Harrison
Now that's a soundtrack of the times... Live in Manchester. If I'm not
mistaken it was recorded at the Gmex when they were supporting 808 State.
N-Joi blew 808 state off-stage, and they were supposed to be supporting. :)

Oh, and "make you strong like a lion" also got sampled on Jibaro by Electra
(see Balearic Beats Vol 1)... I think.

What other releases are there from Humanoid?
I was only aware of Stakker.
I think there must a stack of FSOL-related records out there that I haven't
heard.
(Actually I think this has been discussed quite recently or am I imagining
it?)

maybe not under the FSOL name, but they did a whole lot of other records,
including Humanoid's "Slam!"... There's some rapping in there!

I had the 12" with the guy rapping over Leo Leo.
Brings back memories of early 90's techno rap: Quadraphonia, Homboy Hippie
and a Funky Dred,
Future Sound Of London, MC Tunes.

It was over 12 years ago but think it was their first rfecord, hardcore rave
era techno in the
spirit of Dominator with a guy rapping and yelling THE FUTURE SOUND OF LONDON.

Indeed it was the track I was looking for, thanks to those who answered...
still have to clarify why I had in mind it was a Lionrock track, though. Oh
well. It was weird to listen to it again, felt like it wasn't as good as I
remembered it...

(313) Strong like a lion...

2003-01-06 Thread Cobert, Gwendal
I know this isn't specifically 313, still... trying to locate a very old
club track by Lionrock (or maybe Leftfield), with a vocal repeating "strong
like a lion"... anybody could tell me the real name of the track, and what
record it's on ? doesn't seem to be listed on discogs.com...

Thanks in advance !
Gwendal
