OSUNLADE (Yoruba/GotSoule/R2/Soul Jazz/NYC):
Since age seven, music has been the creative outlet for this self taught
musician, songwriter, but it wasnt until the late 80's before his talent
would be noticed professionally. From tv's Sesame Street, to a lengthy
producing career in the early 90's, his talent was sought after for his
unique sound of classic soul and jazzy overtones. From artists like the new
soul era's Musiq , Eric Benet to contemporary jazz artist Najee and a host
of many other artists like Grammy Award Winning artist Patti LaBelle, this
producer/musician/songwriter has edged his followers and has kept the
genuine love and integrity of music his main objective.
Seven years ago he discoverd Ifa, a traditional african culture that changed
his way of existence as well as his music. Osunlade has since become a
devotee of Ifa as well as the founder and co-owner of one of the worlds most
recognized underground house labels, Yoruba Records. Over one decade has
passed in this creative minds eye, and life has shown a more spiritual way
of communicating his music to the world. With his signature sound now
elevated toward enlightenment of the Yoruba way and the elevation of all
things, he has molded all facets of his musical journey with the traditional
musical diaspora. In his debut full length recording, Osunlade joins forces
with Soul Jazz records to create a musical journey for all music lovers.
Paradigm is an eclectic, deep house driven oracle. as the attempt to
preserve what was once called simply music, his latest endeavors include
projects for Cesaria Evora, Ms. Dynamite, 4 Hero, Incognito, Shazz, India
Arie, United Future Organization, Zero 7, Musiq Jon Cutler, Spacek, Los de
Abajo, as well as upcoming original material from Yoruba.
TOBIAS (Guidance Recordings/Chicago):
Tobias, spoon fed on 60's soul and classical guitar by his benevolent
parents, set the seeds for his future when he discovered 80s pop on the
radio. Obsessions with dreamy pop, punk, disco, glam rock and house music
led him to drop out of college and pursue a DJ career, which was quite
fruitful. Dissatisfied with just playing records, he landed a job at
Guidance Recordings, put out a CD (Midnight Express 2 on Guidance), and
joined Synesthesia's quest to end night life boredom. He currently holds
down fort at swanky new Chicago club Superlounge and has really big ideas
about being a rockstar.
