Re: [313] BC 09/suggestions
Just checked with www.circonium.de I was going by Sonic Grooves database (I was in a hurry and I usually have it open at work in the record store). Ploy was M1 and Lyot M2, apparently however they were released in '92. The first CR record by Scion (emerge) was released in '95. As always never trust Sonic Groove for anything. :) Cheers todd - Original Message - From: "Jenny Cigarettes" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "313" <313@hyperreal.org>; "M. Point taken. As I mentioned in the original message I was unclear about the connection between Chain Reaction and the various Ernestus / Von Oswald projects due to the large amount of apparently incorrect information available. My thanks to everyone that has corrected me. But if we're going to be really nitpicky about this, isn't Domina M3 (having been preceded by Ploy and Lyot and followed by M4)? Also, wasn't it a 1993 release? > M1 a.k.a Domina was released in 1994, CR01 was released in 95. Kinda hard > for the birth of the parent to happen after the child. > > Cheers > todd

The Maurizio CD that >> contains most of the M-series is often listed as being part of the Chain >> Reaction label discography. yes and one of the tracks that are on m series cd is on main street also(MSR06) but it doesnt mean that all series are on main street. and that is all another story. b.

M1 a.k.a Domina was released in 1994, CR01 was released in 95. Kinda hard for the birth of the parent to happen after the child. Re: [313] BC 09/suggestions
The 'M' series on Chain Reaction / >M is definitely worth investigating (M4 is a particular favorite). i would not bet that "M" is on chain reaction, its not. for BCP compilation look for metal box on cdnow or amazon, also look for maurizio you will find m series. you can find there lots on chain reaction, something from rhytm&sound, main street. also look for farben aka jan jelinek im not sure you can find tat on cdnow or amazon. look for herbert. if you like sound like that you want dan bell`s "button down mind" on tresor.(142) that is about that. for web site check out circonium. b.
Re: [313] BC 09/suggestions
Phylyps trak II is definitely my favorite Basic Channel release, although they are all - for the most part - variations on a similar theme (the other one you heard might have been a Jeff Mills remix?). I'd say that you can't go wrong in picking up any (or indeed all) of the Basic Channel tracks you can find... Other labels/projects related to Basic Channel (either labels published by Basic Channel Publishing or BC related projects) Chain Reaction (this label that took over when Basic Channel ended) M (I'm not sure if this constitutes a label in it's own right, or if it's more of a project on Chain Reaction) Burial Mix Imbalance Computer Music Main Street Records Rhythm & Sound (label and project) Quadrant Din A few more labels that do that minimal techno and house thing: M-Plant Accelerate Deepchord Profan (particularly for the Studio1 EPs) Force Tracks Playhouse Max - Ernst You'll probably get some better replies from others on the list. I really like this kind of stuff, but pay less attention than I should to who makes it and how the labels are interconnected. The 'M' series on Chain Reaction / M is definitely worth investigating (M4 is a particular favorite). Some of Marco Carola's stuff has that minimal dub sound, as do a lot of Gaz Varley (G-Man) releases. None of them quite as stripped down / experimental as the Basic Channel related stuff though. - Original Message - From: Scotto <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: 313 <313@hyperreal.org> Sent: Monday, April 09, 2001 10:10 PM Subject: [313] BC 09/suggestions > I was woundering if anyone could suggest other BC records that are in the > vien of this one. both tracks are really good.
