(313) Minimal Nation is back!
Rob Hood is re-releasing the original Minimal Nation album with a couple of extra tracks - he's also relaunching M-Plant and hopefully doing doing re-presses too- all good in the Hood :) Hand's up if you think this sounds like Robs' natural speech characteristics??? Minimal Nation is not just a collection of rhythm tracks, but a supernatural work of art realized. I felt a strong sense of urgency to create a body of work that identified with what was placed on my heart, as opposed to what was on my mind. Regardless, of its diminutive nature, one should never underestimate the neural potency of minimalism. A supernatural what? The neural potency of e? Still, when you made an album that good you don't have to make sense I suppose! Jason

My buddy just dropped hood's minimal nation on my tables 5 minutes ago. About 5 minutes ago you would have had to peel me off the wall. I've never heard it before. My heart rate is still up. jason6

I always saw the next level up from Minimal Nation as being Hood's Spectral Nomad EP on Metroplex, so if you liked Minimal Nation but haven't heard Spectral Nomad, you should definitely pick it up... Yep - to my mind minimal nation and the vision ep ARE techno. I found hearing them for the first time similar to hearing tubby or scratch dubs for the first time - s spatial, really opens up your head. :-Original Message- :From: robin pinning [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] :Sent: Friday, February 21, 2003 12:18 PM :To: Brendan Nelson :Cc: 313 Mailing List :Subject: RE: (313) Minimal Nation : : : I always saw the next level up from Minimal Nation as being Hood's : Spectral Nomad EP on Metroplex, so if you liked Minimal Nation but : haven't heard Spectral Nomad, you should definitely pick it up... : Explain The Style is an almost religious experience! : :the similar detroit:one circle on the flip aint to shabby either... : :one of my faves : :robin...

Rob Hood is one of the very few producers out there who has such a good full-length that never got a CD issue. Anybody know if Minimal Nation has a CD release slotted? Matt It was released on CD. I bought a copy when I was in Scotland when it was originally released . Re: [313] Minimal Nation
Hmm. My suspicions entirely. I wish somebody would settle this. For my part, I asked after a cd version of this release from Hedonizm records in Brighton, a very well-stocked mail order company, and they told me there was no cd release. Which is a pity if it's true.
