Re: [313] jack's house
As an addendum to nick's post: That pressing of "My House" has 1987 as the release year. ...Before the Fingers pressing on Desire... .06 the original acapella is a track called "My House" by Rhythm Controll on Catch A Beat Records...hard to find and way over sampled. nick. --- Jim Grindle <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Believe it or not I don't have THE essential classic > chicago house trak > "Jack's house..I am the creator in the begginning > their was house one day > while throwing down on his box" > ok with those vocal snippets someone has to be able > to tell me the name and > artist > I thought it was Mr.Fingers @ Trax but I have yet to > get it right > help > Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com

Re: [313] jack's house
fingers 'can you feel' has a vocal version on trax. but it's not the original use of 'in the beginning there was jack'. i have it, but can't remember the artists name or label. it has an accapella, a vocal with the fingers track and two other tracks. historically it's an interesting record but if you want the track better to buy the re-released trax version. if you want the accapella the easiest place is probably on Kikoman vs. Daniel Thomson 'Open Ya Mind' (Deepfried) from last year. if anybody really wants to know the name and label of the orignal i'll post it in two weeks when i get back from camping in northern cali. james Jim Grindle <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> on 08/16/2000 02:11:00 PM To: "'313@hyperreal.org'" <313@hyperreal.org> cc:(bcc: James Bucknell/Magazines/Hearst) Subject: [313] jack's house Believe it or not I don't have THE essential classic chicago house trak "Jack's house..I am the creator in the begginning their was house one day while throwing down on his box" ok with those vocal snippets someone has to be able to tell me the name and artist I thought it was Mr.Fingers @ Trax but I have yet to get it right help - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [313] Re: [[313] jack's house]
i don't think it's a bootleg, then again i could be wrong. the label that version came out on eludes me, but i do know the sleeve was yellowish-brown. anyone else able to offer any input? sand. Although it is originally an instrumental track. Later in 1988, there was also a vocal version with Robert Owens and a very rare version with the Martin Luther King - I have a dream speech on Jack Trax released as Fingers Inc. The version you are talking about is some kind of bootleg (I believe not even released with prior knowledge of Larry Heard) with the famous "in the beginning there was Jack" speech.
