All Music Guide claims on their Ectomorph entry that Gerald Donald is one half of Drexciya. Even Mad Mike Banks has been connected with Drexciya once or more times. Since very few people know the actual identities of Drexciya, these rumours will undoubtedly go on and on. I find this sought after anonymity interesting. Is there any techno manifesto/early techno social theory that promotes anonymity of producers? The DJ's sure aren't anonymous! mediadrome

Well, Mad Mike some of the UR gang have been quite anonymous, at least in the way of not posing for photographs without some kind of mask. For example, Wolfgang Voigt (Mike Ink) and Aphex Twin are known for their numerous pseudonyms. Actually, it's quite simple to stay anonymous if you put at least some effort to it. IMO the point _can_ sometimes be like making a kind of the music itself is more important than the makers -statement. Not that it always is, of course. :) J Jussi Lehtonen [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.netppl.fi/~sandman Do not allow yourself to be programmed. For once, in your life, take control. Take control. - UR

(Just so we don't get 50 replies from DJ/producers We're talking about DJ's in their capacity as DJ's and producers in their capacity as producers, NOT DJ's who also produce and producers who also DJ.) mediadrome
