yup - she also sings on stage with Massive Attack these days, haven't seen her
personnally but she's said to play the part very well...

Slam have used Dot allison on a couple of things. And also they have done
a remix of her track "We are science". She's a very good vocalist in an
ethereal sort of way. Can't make out the lyrics though!

Re: (313) WE WANT LYRICS! - techno tracks?

2003-04-30 Thread Michael . Elliot-Knight

interesting that I too have been thinking about lyrics in techno tracks and
how it's hard to find new stuff with decent (or any lyrics) - wasn't there
a new Funk D'Void or Slam track that featured a female singer? I recall an
recent interview where - I think it was Slam - was talking about their use
of lyrics and how techno producers shun lyrics. I'm trying to find
something on it right now...

I know there are tracks by Octave One and the KSR release that has lyrics
or some singing on it - but i haven't seen anything quite like the lyrical
content of, say, an Inner City track for a long time - or maybe at this
time I just can't recall hearing any new techno like that.
please inform me otherwise (looking for more peak hour type stuff or good
lead ups to)

I've been turning to Chicago house and older house/disco for lyrics but
would love to hear some new stuff with a definite techno element

MEK

by the way that Angola 12" is killer - kept playing it over and over last
night - both sides. probably one of the best new records I've bought
recently
