 I found a self-titled LP from 1971 called Black Murda, an excellent 
 funk-soul band from detroit.  As far as i know they are not on discogs, 
 found a little bit on google, but no complete discography.  Are there 
 any funk fans out there that can help me fill in the blanks?

You can buy a couple of their lp's on vinyl rerelease here. Check tuff
city in general if you never been there. I like their description of
them, too late for the hendrix generation and too early for the
parliament-funkadelic generation... sweet.
